Schaumburg is located 29 miles northwest of Chicago's Loop yet it maintains an urban ambiance that sets it apart from most suburban communities. Careful planning and managed development has made Schaumburg into one of the most sought-after business locations in the state. Huge companies such as Motorola, The Signature Group, Zurich-American Insurance, Advantis, Ameritech call the community home as do hundreds of other smaller companies. Retailers also find Schaumburg a great place to do business. Woodfield Mall, at nearly 2.7 million square feet, is one of the largest enclosed shopping centers in the United States.

Housing: The abundant shopping, excellent schools, convenient transportation and good job market, continue to attract buyers to the area. The majority of the houses were built after 1970, and a variety of styles are available. Ranches, split-levels and multifamily housing is popular.

Schools: Elementary students attend District 54, Illinois' largest elementary district. An advanced art program is available for district students who have special skills or an interest in art. The district's science curriculum allows children to learn through active participation. Schaumburg and J B Conant High Schools, District 211, are in the state's largest suburban high school district. The curriculum offers more that 235 academic vocational and special education courses, as well as a six-week summer school.

Transportation: The Northwest Tollway (I-90) and Illinois 53 are easily accessible. Drive time to the Loop is about 45 minutes. O'Hare Airport is 20 minutes away, while Midway is an hour's drive. Metra commuters can board trains in Schaumburg, Palatine, Roselle, and Arlington Heights. Locals can reach the Loop in 50 minutes, while the express arrives in 40 minutes. Bus service is available.
